Programme: LESSAP
The World Bank described LESSAP as the first phase of a multi-phase programme with an overall goal of providing sustainable, reliable and affordable electricity to 632,500 Liberians. The first phase included IDA credit and grant financing, support for Greater Monrovia grid electrification, renewable-energy mini-grids, stand-alone solar systems and off-grid solar for health facilities. The 632,500 figure is a programme goal, not a claim that this number of connections had already been delivered in 2021.
