Programme: Local Government Act

The Local Government Act emerged from Liberia's longer decentralisation process and was introduced before the Weah administration. After passage by the 54th Legislature, President Weah signed it on 19 September 2018. UNDP described the law as laying the groundwork for major local-governance reform, including the transfer of authority and functions from Monrovia toward county and local structures. Implementation remained a long-term process involving government and development partners.
