On 17 November 2023, President George Manneh Weah addressed the nation while votes from the 14 November presidential runoff were being counted.
He acknowledged that the remaining count could not reverse Joseph Nyuma Boakai's lead and accepted the result, while thanking Liberians for participating in the election and urging supporters to respect the democratic process.
The final NEC tally later recorded 814,481 votes (50.64%) for Boakai and 793,914 (49.36%) for Weah.
The concession became an important part of the 2023–2024 constitutional transfer of power. The European Union Election Observation Mission later stated that the timely concession significantly contributed to the peaceful transition.
