George Manneh Weah was inaugurated President of Liberia on 22 January 2018 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia.

In the address, he described the transition as more than an electoral victory: it was a peaceful transfer achieved through democratic institutions and the rule of law. He acknowledged the contribution of Liberians, ECOWAS, the United Nations and international partners to the country's post-war peace.

The United Nations described the inauguration as the first peaceful democratic transition between elected Liberian leaders in more than 70 years.
